   PAINT YOUR HOUSE: midwinter break class
Students can bring in a picture of their house or another house that they would like to paint on canvas with acrylic paint.

   MUSIC:
In this four week class students will make a clay bust of a famous composer, draw a violin on paper with India and walnut inks. They will also do a rendition of Picasso's Three Musicians on paper using India ink and pastels.

   GLORIOUS FLOWERS: spring break classes
20x20 inches is the size canvas students will have, on which to draw and paint a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a vase. Inspiration will come fromVincent Van Gogh and other famous artists.

2017 Summer Schedule

Colorwheel Studio is offering summer workshops during five weeks of summer.
Each of the following classes meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Either a morning or afternoon session is available each week.
The morning sessions meet from 10:00-12:00and are for 5-9 year olds.
The afternoon sessions meet from 3:00-5:00 and are for 7-12 year olds.
The instructor is Kay Benesi and the cost for each session is $120.
When registering please specify which week and session you are interested in.

Week 1: June 20, 21, 22    Bowl of Fruit
Cezanne, Matisse, and Braque will be the inspiration for this class. Students will draw and paint a still-life on canvas, consisting of a bowl of fruit on a table top with various other objects surrounding the bowl. The third day of class they will do a small, more abstract rendition of a still-life using chalk, India ink,and watercolor.

Week 2: July 4, 5, 6    Seattle Skyline
Students will draw and paint a Seattle skyline scene on a 15x30 inch canvas using acrylic paint. The third day they will do a black, white, and shades of grey downtown scene on paper with India ink.

Week 3: July 25, 26, 27    Horses
In this class students will learn to appreciate the beautiful physique of horses. They will draw ad paint a horse on canvas with acrylic paint. The third day they will do more horse drawings on paper.

Week 4: August 8, 9, 10    Cats and Dogs
Students will draw and paint a portrait of both a cat and dog from the shoulders up, on good quality paper with acrylic paint. The third day they will draw and paint dogs and cats on paper with watercolors.

Week 5: August 22, 23, 24    Summer Flowers on Canvas
In this class we will get our inspiration from a real bouquet of flowers, as well as from pictures of the flower paintings of Vincent Van Gogh, and other artists from the past. Students will draw and paint a beautiul vase full of flowers on canvas with acrylic paint. The third day they will do a long sunflower painting on rice paper, using India ink and watercolors.
